  When my husband and I first moved to Rochester in the mid 90s, we tried many ELCA Lutheran Congregations and settled in at Zumbro. I can safely say that it has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. We love the sense of community, the opportunities for youth, the activities that reach all ages, the Sunday School and its amazing teachers, vacation Bible school, and so much more. Our pastors have the amazing ability to give sermons that are relevant to our lives, true to the Bible, and challenging to us as individuals to go out and live in God's Word. We are creating a place for ALL to belong and worship. I hope you join us!

  This is a great church. We have been attending for 30 years. The church is a warm, welcoming community for all, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. One particularly positive aspect is the opportunity to join a class. We recently attended a group that looked at the topic of "Fear of the Stranger," for example--very timely in 2017! Another example of a really good class was a series on the topic of "doubt."
  
  The claim by one reviewer that the pastors preach "hell and brimstone" is completely false. We have been attending for almost thirty years and this has never happened--not one single time. I also don't believe the claim that they put you on a "warning track" based on your donations to the church. Finally, the claim that this is an "ultra-conservative" church is completely false. This church does same-gender weddings, for goodness sake! I seriously wonder if the reviewer was thinking about a different church!
  
  If you are looking for a church to join or just visiting, you will be welcomed at Zumbro Lutheran Church.

  When we came to Roch. one of my best students raved about Zumbro, especially their youth ed. program. We came to visit, and have been there about 10 years since. The staff are talented and welcoming, the people who attend are some of the nicest and warmest we've known. Since joining we've moved 15 miles outside of Roch. but still drive in because we love that church and the people in it.
  
  The suggestions of a "list" on a previous post here, are kind of funny. Maybe they went there as kids a long time ago and have some bad memories, but today Zumbro is vibrant, open, and my kids love being there.
  
  That's our experience, hope this helps.

  The pastor at this church is jerk I called looking for help and he didnt listen to me and hung up I had to spend the night out side in the cold.

  ZLC has been our church home over the past 6-7 years. What we value most about our church home is the welcome and open path that is set in service. Actively sharing the message of Jesus is what draws us to this place.
